Let me start by saying this restaurant was AMAZING! In fact, it was so amazing, I don’t even feel the need to preface it with a corny intro. So, here we go.
Watercourse Foods; We stumbled upon this gem by spontaneously renting those “Lime” scooters and racing down 17th Ave. I lost, but that’s neither here nor there, lol. When we walked inside, we could tell that we picked a great spot because it was PACKED! The atmosphere was like NOTHING i’d ever experienced. It was like a cross between a bar/lounge and a coffee shop. And the best part, IT WAS A VEGAN RESTAURANT!
We sat at the coffee bar. Yes, I said coffee bar. Our Barista Alex greeted us, handed us some menus, and described some of his favorite menu items. I must admit, I had a hard time deciding, because everything sounded amazing. Ultimately, I decided to go with the
TAMARIND STREET NOODLE
(Ramen noodles, tamarind paste, brussels sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, fresno pepper, pomegranate ponzu and scallion microgreens), and my sweetheart got the
BUFFALO CAULIFLOWER WINGS with a side of fries.
You may be thinking, “Why would you get noodles?”. To be perfectly honest, the name is what sold me. If you know anything about street food, you know that it packs some of the most intense flavors you’ll ever experience. With that being said, my expectations were exceeded. I don’t usually scarf down my food, but let’s just say I only had my food for about 6 minutes. I didn’t have a drop of food left. The layers of flavor were astounding. I would highly recommend this place to vegans and non-vegans. 10 out of 10 stars.
Oh, I forgot to mention that alex let us sample 2 of their vegan milkshakes (Vanilla and peanut butter-chocolate); They were FIRE!!!! We went back the next day to purchase those same shakes, lol.
If you’re ever in Denver, please visit Watercourse Foods. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Don’t forget to tag your posts with #EffortlessTravels if you try one of the restaurants on our blog.
