Little India - Denver, Colorado

I recently took a trip to Denver, Colorado this past week. First off let me say, it was AHMAYZING! It was such a beautiful place you guys. The mountains were packed with snow, the trees were the perfect shade of green, and the snow was as crisp as a sprite. I was truly in awe of this aesthetically pleasing place.

Anytime I'm out of town, I'm always in search of the BEST places to eat. I mean hey, I'm a chef, what did you expect? Prior to this trip, I was going on and on about how I was craving Indian food. So guess what I did when I made it to Denver? I FOUND INDIAN FOOD!

After reading online reviews, we chose to have dinner at Little India on 6th Ave.

As we walked in, we were greeted and seated immediately. While waiting on our server, I gazed at the decor of the room. It was just beautiful. The ambiance was so soothing; The lights were low, the music was soft, and the temperature was set to a very satisfying 70 degrees. At this point, I was ready to EAT.

After looking over the menu for 10 minutes, we finally decided on 3 things: Lamb Vinadloo, Chicken Curry, and Lamb Masala, All of which comes with naan bread and rice. I know what you may be thinking, "Why order so much?". Well, the first thing to understand about Indian food is that it’s meant to be served family-style. An Indian family sitting down to a meal together would have an assortment of dishes to choose from, including appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, and bread. Indian cuisine is also about the layering of flavors and spices, so it’s perfectly acceptable to put a little bit of everything on your plate. So let's just say we wanted to get the full experience.

The food was so delicious!!!! The spices and flavors that permeated the meats were unmatched. They’d balanced the flavors perfectly. The rice was so fluffy and the naan bread had just the right amount of garlic on it. Words just can't do this meal justice, It was simply awesome. Now let me say this, the Lamb vindaloo is EXTREMELY SPICY! It is not for the weak, lol. I was raised on extremely spicy foods so I can stand the heat, but if you're not into spicy foods, DO NOT ORDER THE VINDALOO.

I'd give Little India a 10 out of 10 stars. From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere, everything was PERFECT. If you're ever in Denver and you're looking for some flavorful and filling food, go to Little India on 6th street in Downtown Denver.
